Tap Data Transfer from the HOS Main Screen to display the list of supported data transfer options.
The ELD allows for a single-step compilation of the driver’s ELD records and initiation of data transfer to authorized safety officials when requested during a roadside inspection.
Tap Data Transfer to transfer data compiling the driver’s ELD records. Once tapped, a selection of the ELD’s supported data transfer options will appear.
Tap Select Vehicle to show the list of vehicles used by the driver. The All Vehicles option will only appear on the list when the driver has already driven multiple vehicles for the day.
Transfer via Bluetooth - enables the user to transfer files via Bluetooth. The ELD prompts the user to enter an output file comment (optional). After the input, if Bluetooth is not yet turned on, a prompt will ask you to turn it on.
The driver is then asked to pick the device to which the data will be transmitted.
Transfer via Email - this option enables the user to transfer files through email. The ELD output file transferred is encrypted using AES-256 in FIPS Publication 197. Before sending, the ELD prompts the user to enter an output file comment (optional).
The device’s default email application is opened before sending the email with which the
data is transferred
Transfer via USB - allows the user to transfer files via USB (external devices). Prior to saving the
driver’s ELD file to an external storage/device, the ELD re-authenticates the driver account by
asking for its password.
When authentication is successful, the driver can select where the ELD file is saved.
After selecting a data transfer option, the ELD prompts the user to enter output file
comment (optional, up to 60 characters long).
The ELD then generates a compliant output file and performs the data transfer.
